The Olympic torch isn’t having the easiest of times. Protestors, demonstrators, you name it. Whatever you think about that, the IOC says it’s going to consider the future of the torch relay. They’ll meet on Friday. The protection of the flame during the relay is a time-honored tradition. But for the Beijing Games we’re seeing a special cadre of Chinese bodyguards. Oh, and there’s a shady history to the whole relay thing – think 1936. More in today’s story from PRI’s The World.
